The Beauty of a Flower.....

I was pretty lucky this week! On Tuesday I received beautiful flowers from one of my best friends, and then on Friday I received a beautiful bouquet of pink roses from my husband. They were all so pretty that I just had to take a few pictures of them. Enjoy!

Love Day!

So, it's Valentine's Day today. This is not one of my favourite holidays, never has been. I'm a big believer in letting people know how you feel every day, not just one day. However, some people really love Valentine's Day and that is evident by the aisles of Valentine's Cards, stuffed animals and giant red hearts that adorn the stores this time of year. I admit, I fall prey to all that commercialism as my three boys woke up this morning to a bag full of goodies and Valentine's from me and their Dad telling them how much we love them! As for my husband and I, we do the exchange of cards and he always buys me flowers, which I gratefully accept.

In honour of this "special day" I'm attaching some of my favourite pictures of "love" that I've captured over the past few years. And I even edited them onto a pink foo foo background in honour of this "pink, foo foo holiday"!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. I hope your day is truly filled with love and laughter!

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

I was searching through Facebook looking at other fellow photographer's pages and came across Paper doll Photography. Her status claimed she was donating $5.00 from every session booked in 2010 to the CBCF. I thought to myself, what a wonderful idea.....so I decided to do the same. Both of my grandmother's died from Breast Cancer so this foundation hits close to home for me. So, any and all sessions booked in 2010 I will be donating money to the this worthwhile cause. I encourage other photographers to follow suit.

More Koy.....

Cute Koy!

I had the opportunity to take 2-year portraits for Koy. I had taken their family pictures back in the Fall and we did it at a site that had cows at it. Koy remembered, so when we were outside we were constantly in search of "cows". It worked as a great distraction to keep him interested in being outside on a chilly winter day. He was so fun to work with, full of smiles and a sweet little personality. Nancy has three boys, just like me, and her children are very into hockey - just like mine! We incorporated that into the pictures that day. As well, Koy celebrated his 2nd birthday in Disney World complete with a party with Mickey Mouse so we also wanted to incorporate that into these pictures. Thanks to Koy, we were able (and I say we - because when you take pictures of young children - the parent's help is crucial) to capture some great pictures to commemorate his 2nd birthday! Thanks Koy - you're a dream to work with!! Some day we'll find those cows again.......

Vintage

I was playing around with this picture of Payton and the original was nice - clean, crisp, etc. But I wanted to try something different to it so I added some layers and adjusted the saturation and I like the way it looks kind of "vintage". This look certainly isn't for everyone, but I liked it!

Fun!
