The Beautiful Miss. Kara
I met up with Kara on location in Oakville for some portraits of her. She was so fun to work with, and so natural in front of a camera. What a great sport she was....enduring the heat, the constant driving from location to location and even changing in her car! Thanks Kara - so great to meet you. Here is a sneak peak of some of the many images we captured on Friday afternoon.

Day 172
The Bailey Clan
I had a great time doing family pictures for the Bailey Family in Neepawa today. I was driving through from the cabin back to Oakville and we arranged to have me stop there on my way by. I am not going to lie, I was nervous about this session. Brian Bailey is a Photographer and has been a Ph...otographer far longer than I have been so I was a bit nervous to be taking pictures of "his family". Brian has always taken pictures of "my family". He was the Wedding Photographer for my wedding, as well as two of my sibling's weddings. He was also my Photographer for my graduation from High School.....so to be on the other side of the lens taking HIS picture was a bit of a daunting task! However, Brian is also family, so that made it a lot easier. Jan is my Mom's first cousin, but they are more like sisters, always have been, and we have always remained in touch and close with the Bailey Clan.
I was very honoured when the Bailey's asked me to do this family session and the images all turned out great (whew!!).
I have only got started on the pictures, but here is a sneak peak of one of the many family shots we captured.

"Family is Where Your Story Starts....."
Today we headed to my parent's for a barbecue with the family. We're all "home" right now so it was great to get everyone together one last time before Brett and Jolene head back to Ottawa. I always have my camera at family functions and I'm usually not the most popular ...family member (as you can tell by my younger brother's expression - bottom right hand corner), but they usually are grateful in the end for the captured memories! I wasn't dare going to suggest a "group photo" as I had already tortured them in Mexico with a group shot on the beach and last summer as well in honour of my Mom's 60th birthday. Instead I just wandered around trying to capture a picture of everyone.....they all turned out great, except for Brett, but I wasn't going to push it.
Anyhow, here is Day 171, a glimpse at the 16 most important people in my life....my family.

Day 170
"Brett and Jolene"
My younger brother and his beautiful wife are out visiting from Ottawa this week. They came over to the cabin today for a barbecue and "drinks on the deck" and it was great to visit with them both. You wouldn't know it from this picture, but they are expecting their first child in several months. I am so excited to be an aunty again!!!
This is the only picture I took today and it is perfect for Day 170! Thanks for coming over Brett and Jolene and congrats again on the wonderful baby news!!!

Day 169
"Happy Birthday Kris"
Today is my husband's birthday. We spent it celebrating with my sister and her family at our cabin. It stormed off and on, but managed to subside so we could enjoy drinks on the deck at our cabin all evening. I didn't take many pics today, but did snap a quick pic of the birthday boy relaxing on the deck.
Happy Birthday Kris - Luv U!

Day 168
"The End of a Great Weekend"
On Sunday evening there was a Family Dance that we all attended. The kids danced their hearts out. I have never seen so much energy.....what a great way to end a great weekend. There were fireworks that we all took in after the dance. My Dad parked his truck so that all the grandsons could sit in the box and watch it.
Day 168....the Maxwell Grandsons enjoying the fireworks that ended the 110th Grandview Homecoming weekend. Great to spend it with my entire family!

Day 167
"I did it - I can "CAN CAN"
So, as I mentioned in an earlier post my lovely sister-in-law signed me up to be a "Can Can Girl" in the Grandview Settler's Re-enactment play on Saturday afternoon. It was so hot out, I swear the make-up was melting of my face that afternoon. Regardless, we had a great afternoon. Kudos to the Director (Linda McNabb) and the Organizers (Nellie Rickards and Steve Novalkowski) for the awesome job they did in seeing this production happen.
Here is Day 167....a few pictures of us in our "Can Can" outfits. We were actually in them all day as we had to go in the parade later that evening! What a great day all around.

Day 166
"Homecoming!"
On Friday, the boys and I headed for a weekend in Grandview celebrating Grandview's 110th Homecoming Weekend. We stayed at my older brother's place all weekend and had a great time (Thanks for the hospitality Lance & Buffy). We spent Friday afternoon/evening at Lance's with all my family (my younger brother and his wife were also home from Ottawa) so we were all together again! Here is a picture of the three boys with their Homecoming Hats I bought them....
Day 166, the start of an awesome, family-packed weekend.
