Day 179

"Pretty Little Faces"

Today I packed up and travelled "home" to Grandview. I got home around 5:00 p.m. just in time to do a mini-session with Little Miss. Keara and Little Miss. Calyn. They are cousins and I took pictures of their little "Tea Party" at my brother's place (they are both nieces of my sister-in-law...). What a pair of sweet-hearts! They both have the most beautiful blue eyes and sweet smiles.

Afterwards, I headed over to the Minshull's for some family portraits. They have two beautiful daughters, Lane & Brooke. We toured around their yardsite and took pictures of them in so many great locations. Thank you Renee & Dave - it was great to see you and I appreciate the opportunity take pictures of your family.

Afterwards the boys and I headed up to the cabin - WOW - we drove through one heck of a thunderstorm. I felt like we were surrounded by lightning. By Roblin a bolt of lightning struck a hydro pole and it lit right up. The kids thought it was fireworks! Needless to say, after pulling over a couple times due to zero visibility, we finally made it, safe and sound.

Here is Day 179....a few of the pretty little faces I was able to photograph this afternoon. How lucky am I?

Day 178

"Happy Anniversary"

Yesterday we celebrated Darren & Lori Miller's 15th wedding anniversary. Darren surprised her by having a dinner party for her with all of the wedding party and family. She was shocked when she walked in and saw us all sitting there! Two out of five bridesmaids were there, and four out of fi...ve groomsmen. The Ring Bearer was also there, although now he is taller than all of us! I must say we all look better now than we did 15 years ago....yes we've aged, but the big hair and big glasses are a thing of the past! LOL!

Any of you who follow my blog or my 365 know that Kris and I met in a wedding party - and this was the couple who we stood up for so their anniversary always holds some signifigance for us as well. Darren is Kris's childhood friend, and Lori is my childhood friend....and the rest is history! We are as good of friends now as we were then and we are so grateful for their friendship.

Here is Day 178....a few images from the anniversary party!

PS - if you're wondering why Lori's Mom is so dressed up it is because we got looking through the wedding album and Darren was calling Marilyn teasing her about her hat so she snuck over to surprise him. It was hilarious! Good one Marilyn!

Great Expectations X 2

I met up with Bev and Chris on Sunday afternoon for some maternity photos. It was so hot out, but Bev just took it all in stride and let me drag her all over the countryside to capture these images! Thanks Bev & Chris for tolerating the heat....and the mosquitoes. Good luck with the arrival of your TWINS!

Holly and John - Engaged!

I was very excited to meet Holly and John for an engagement session on Sunday evening. Holly and I have gone back and forth via email since March regarding engagement and wedding photos. When we met, I felt like I had known them both for years. They are such a lovely couple, they've been together for nine years - tr...uly high school sweet hearts! Thank you John and Holly, it was so great to meet you both. I am so excited to shoot your wedding next summer! Here are a few of the many images we captured on Sunday. PS - thanks guys for tolerating the heat and the mosquitoes!!

Day 177

"Summer"

My Summer. My Boys. My Life. Enough Said.

Here is Day 177.....

Day 176

"Happy 10th Birthday Danny"

Well today was my oldest son's tenth birthday! Double digits.....when did that happen. Time just seems to be flying by way too fast. I always get a little sad around my children's birthdays. I wish there was a way I could freeze time and keep them all little. However, despite my feelings of sadness, it's not about me - it's about my son and making his tenth birthday the best ever.

We headed into Thunder Mountain Waterslides for the afternoon with a couple of his good buddies. What a perfect day weather-wise, but there were long line-ups! Regardless, the kids had a blast. Then we headed to Montana's Restaurant for supper with all the kids and had a great time. Of course, they put the big Viking hat or whatever it is on him and sang happy birthday....to which he was beaming! I didn't capture great pictures of that as they were crowded around the table and it all went so fast. Sometimes it's nice to just enjoy the moment instead of always having to be ready for that "next great picture opportunity"....now I'm kicking myself for not taking more pictures! Oh well!

After our busy day we arrived home and we had cupcakes and sang happy birthday - every kid needs cake on their birthday! I am a firm believer of that....and of course, I LOVE cake!

So, for Day 176 it is a few pictures from our busy day. I didn't have much of an opportunity to take a ton of pictures as we were at the water park and the boys literally disappeared up and down the slides.....I kept waiting for them, but just as I'd walk away to lock up my camera, they'd come zooming down the slide again!

Happy 10th Birthday Danny! I hope you had an awesome, memorable day! I know I did.....

Day 175

"In Luv"

Well, what a hot day today was! Wow! I had two sessions today, both outdoors! The first session was with Chris and Bev. They are expecting twins so they wanted some maternity shots done. Bev is absolutely radiant and it was so fun to photograph her and her husband. She was such a trooper, going from... location to location and tolerating the heat and the mosquitoes. We were able to capture so many beautiful maternity shots thanks to her perserverence!

My second session was this evening and it was with Holly and John for engagement pictures. I was excited to meet this couple as we've been going back and forth via emails for the last few months. They were so fun to photograph as well and also put up with the heat and mosquitoes. They are as nice as they are beautiful! Such a fun session - I am so excited to photograph their wedding next July!

Thanks you Chris, Bev, John and Holly - it was great to meet all of you and thank you for trusting me with these very important and memorable photographs!

Here is Day 175...I am still in the process of going through the hundreds of photos, but these are two of my favourites from today!

Vince and Patricia - Sneak Peak from Yesterday!

Day 174

Day 174

"Vince and Patricia"

So I ventured out to Petersfield to shoot Vince and Patricia's wedding today. I was a bit worried I might not find the place, but thanks to Vince's perfect directions, I made it there no problem. They had a beautiful outdoor wedding in the back yard. The setting was perfect and despite the hot weather, the day went off perfectly. Vince amd Patricia were a dream couple to shoot. They were so relaxed and easy-going and toured around with me showing me all kinds of great locations. We went to this one meadow with an old outbuilding and Vince found a pitchfork there. We hammed it up and took this photo. I joked and said it would be my "Picture of the Day". I just got home about an hour ago and I am slowly sorting through ALL the images we captured and when I cam across this one I had to laugh! This pictures just shows you how much fun they were to work with.....they both have a great sense of humour and know how to have fun.

Congratulations Vince and Patricia. It was awesome to meet you Patricia and great to see you and your family again Vince! I have so many images to go through but will post a couple more for you to see!

Here is Day 174 - the Perfect Couple!

Day 173

"Kara"

So today was pretty much dedicated to Photography work. I edited pictures all morning and then headed out to meet Kara for a fun photo session. She was such a great sport. I had a few locations in mind so she was willing to travel from one place to another so away we went! What a beauty she is - I'm so ...pleased with the images we captured this afternoon. Thanks very much Kara - great to meet you - and thanks for travelling from Lockport to let me take your pictures!

Here is Day 173, one of my favourite images from today.
