Today is Remembrance Day. Everyone should take a moment to pause and reflect on the sacrifices that have been made so that we may live a life of freedom.

Christmas Pictures

Well, with all this snow around I was inspired to put up my Christmas tree. Yes, I put up my Christmas tree and yes, I do realize it's only November 10th! I have never put it up this early, but I am a Christmas nut and with the snow, etc. I just felt inspired to get into the Christmas spirit early. I also did it as I've had a couple requests for pictures with a "Christmas" background - I was happy to oblige. My boys and I decorated the tree while Kris just shook his head thinking we were nuts, which we likely are. He managed to snap a few pictures too....however, it was later in the evening, sweatpants and no make-up so I have to check them out and see if I'm brave enough to put a picture of me looking like that on my blog! LOL.

On another note, I finished up the Portage Skating Club pictures. It's been fun taking pictures of all these beautiful girls in their beautiful skating dresses. Having three boys, I don't get the opportunity to be around so much lace, sparkles, and rinestones! It was lots of fun. Here is a picture of Morgan, my friend Lori's daughter (and Shae's sister). She's such a cutey!

The Goertzens

Well, I found my brave souls to come out and play in the snow with me! Randy, Lisa and their three adorable sons braved the elements and joined me in an abandoned yard site in Oakville and we captured some beautiful outdoor winter shots. This family was so much fun to work with as the boys in this family are the exact ages of my children. Little Liam was so good, considering it was cold and at times the snow was up to his knees! Riley and Noah were awesome and were always happy to pose however we wanted them to. I had lots and lots of ideas, but little Liam had enough and I can't blame him. It's not easy being lugged through the snow! Thanks Lisa, Randy and especially Noah, Riley & Liam for being so much fun to work with!

It's Starting to Look A Lot like Christmas!

Well, I woke up to a fresh blanket of snow covering my yard this morning and I'm so inspired to put my kid's colourful toques on them and send them out to play! Can't do that yet though as they're all still sleeping.
Does this mean the end of "outdoor" photo shoots for the year, or are there any brave souls out there willing to try something new and do cool family shots in the snow. I envision black & white shots, with a shot of colour in a toque or scarf...or a family all making snow angels....or a snowball fight....the options are limitless. The key is finding people willing to brave the elements with me and take some cool pics!

Portage Skating Club

I have spent two nights this week doing Portage Skating Club pictures. It has been a lot of fun and I've taken pictures of all sorts of age groups. I took this picture of my Goddaughter Shae - I thought it turned out beautifully.

Kent, Erica & Kids

I took these pictures in Oakville in Kent & Erica's yard. They have the most charming location for natural family photos. The kids were so cute playing in the leaves and the family looked great. I'm very pleased with these pictures. I think we managed to capture the essence of this family. Thanks Kent & Erica!!

Busy few weeks...

Well, it sure has been a busy few weeks. Everyone seems to be wanting their family pictures done before the snow falls! I have had several family portraits in the last five days as well as Portage Skating Club pictures this week on Tuesday and Thursday. I do have some family portraits set up for this weekend, but I'm looking at the forecast and crossing my fingers that the weather will stay decent! Signing off for now and back to photoshop editing....
