I met up with this family on Saturday afternoon. It was a bit chilly, but better than the weather we had last weekend (no snow!). I had lots of fun following "Belle" around and playing peek-a-boo.....she is so cute. Thank you Cam & Ashley for giving me the opportunity to take pictures of your family. JL

Fall or Winter?

So, in the past ten days I have had to reschedule six photo shoots. The weather has just been far too cold to shoot in. The majority of these appointments involved babies and small children and it's very hard to take a picture of a shivering child. No matter how hard they try, they just look cold! I hear the weather is supposed to improve tomorrow and through next week -I really hope so.

I did do one photo shoot this week on Tuesday and the family was great. They asked that none of their photos be posted, and I totally respect that. Everyone has a right to their privacy! I am going to post this one shot I got as the identities cannot be seen. I'm a sucker for mother/child moments.....my favourite types of pictures.

Here's hoping for Fall to arrive and Winter to go away for another month or so!

Fun in the Snow

Well, the weather threw a wrench into my plans this weekend. I had three photo shoots booked up here by my cabin, but the inclement weather put a stop to all of those. At first I was disappointed, but as the kids, Kris & I settled into our cabin I realized I really needed a full weekend off with my kids. We have had a great weekend playing in the snow (who'd a thought that would happen at Thanksgiving!), climbing the bale mountain, and going for walks around this beautiful area. So, what am I thankful for this Thanksgiving weekend? I am thankful for the magic in ordinary days, and the laughter & smiles of my family.

It is still Fall

This picture was just taken three days ago. The sun was out amidst the dark blue skies and I thought this golden wheat just looked perfect. I really hope that the cold snap and flurries we're experiencing is short-lived. I have several photo shoots (10 to be exact!) in the next couple weeks and all are planned to be outdoor "fall" pictures. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Mother Nature has a change of heart and gives us a few more weeks of warm, fall weather.

First Snowfall!

So, I'm sitting at my desk working on proof packages for clients when I look outside and see giant snowflakes falling from the sky. This can't be! Didn't we just have snow mid-May? I called my youngest son to come look and as he stared out the window, I couldn't resist taking his picture. At first I thought it was an awful sight, but as I watched his eyes widen with the excitement of the first snowfall of the season, I couldn't help but smile! Shortly after that, he had to put on his "warm fleece Tigger" outfit and head outside to run around in the falling snow. Of course, I had to follow....camera in hand.

Love this Bridge!

This rainbow bridge is about two miles from my place and is a perfect spot
for picture. I love how both of these turned out!

Little Jaxon

Jaxon was so cute - he just wanted to go back into their warm vehicle and
watch the "bunnies" on the tv. Can't blame him....it was a rather chilly
day outside!

Carson

Carson has to be one of the cutest kids I have ever met! He was so fun to
take pictures of - he had al sorts of "ideas" for poses and wanted to look
his best in every picture - a photographer's dream!

Wild Animals!

After we finished our formal family photo shoot, we changed these adorable
little people into their costumes. They had so much fun tromping through
the yard-site pretending to be wild animals. They were the cutest little
bunny, giraffe & lion that I've ever seen!
