"Rain"
I awoke to a rainy, miserable day. I was supposed to have two family sessions and a Children's session in Grandview today, but needless to say, they were all postponed.
I really didn't feel like taking a picture for my Project 365 today. The community of Grandview is reeling yet again over the tragic loss of one of their own. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Kydd and Scott families. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I can't help but think that the weather today certainly matches the feelings of many from my hometown.

The Derkatch Family
I met up with Rhonda, Brent and their adorable daughter Leah on Sunday morning in Clear Lake. They are my parent's neighbours up at Clear Lake so it was easy to just walk over and jump in with them and head down to the beach to capture some family shots. Here are a few sneak peaks of them enjoying the beach! Isn't Leah just the sweetest - I luv her!
Day 189
"Family"
It was certainly a busy Sunday for me. I started out with a fun family session with Rhonda, Brent and their adorable daughter Leah. We toured around Clear Lake and captured some great shots of their family as well as individual ones of Leah. Thanks Derkatch Family for the opportunity and the fun sessi...on.
In the afternoon I did a mini-session with my two adorable nephews Reese and Maddox. My sister and I took them to the dock at Clear Lake and fired off a bunch of pictures of them enjoying the lake. They turned out sooooo cute! Thanks Reese and Maddox. Afterwards, Grandpa (my Dad) picked us up on the boat and we cruised the lake.
In the evening I headed to Dauphin to capture some family shots of the Chychota Family at their home. It was a very relaxed, fun, family session. It was great to meet all of you and thank you so much for the opportunity!
On a sad note, I received more devestating news from back "home". My thoughts and prayers go out to the Scott and Kydd Families, as well as all of Kevin's friends as they try to come to terms with this tragic loss. May the comfort of friends, family and an extremely supportive community help you through this very difficult time.
Day 189 features a picture from each of my sessions today. I quickly opened them up and went through them this evening....more to come!

Day 188
"Doc Walker"
I spent every summer of my childhood at Clear Lake, and still go there a lot as my parents still have a cabin there. When I heard Doc Walker was doing a free concert, I knew we'd be there. One of my favourite bands is Doc Walker, and my boys love their music too. We all headed down to the beach (and when I say all - I mean my siblings, my parents, my nephews, my kids, my husband and I) and we took in the awesome concert that was put on. We had seven boys under 10 so needless to say we didn't get a seat close up - we stayed on the beach and let the boys "wrestle" while we listened to the great music.
I snuck up to take a sneak peak and try and capture a few pics, but there were so many people crammed to the stage that I couldn't get very close. I did get a few pictures, but so wish I was one of the "photographers' that were right up in the front, they must have captured some awesome shots!

Summer Nights
So, as many of you know, I spend the majority of my summer up at Asessippi with my boys at our cabin. I have scheduled myself so that I have lots of bookings over several days each month of the summer and then that allows me to spend the majority of my children's summer holidays with them. This sounds good in theory, but after seven or eight sessions in a few days I'm left with weeks of editing work. However, I am very fortunate that my work is mobile and I can literally edit while my kids play, thus not interrupting their summer break. I am very grateful that my kids aren't in daycare all summer, instead, they are with me, enjoying the beautiful surroundings up here at the cabin.
Tonight the boys and I headed out for ice cream at Asessippi Park. It was another beautiful night. We walked down to the lake and I literally sat back and watched them play. Not a day goes by where I don't count my blessings and realize how lucky am to have found something I love to do, which also allows me to be here for my kids 100% of the time.
Here are a few pictures from our summer evening. The ones of me are courtesy of my son Danny - my little protege! I'm hoping he'll take over Memories by Me Photography someday instead of Adam Lee Financial! LOL!

Day 187
"My Boys"
Spent the evening just watching my kids play, eat ice cream and have fun. Life is grand, and I am so very grateful for them.
...
A boy is Truth with dirt on it's face,
Beauty with a cut on its finger,
Wisdom with bubble gum in its hair,
and the Hope of the future with a frog in its pocket.

Fall Season ~Booked!~
I have had a great summer, full of lots of family and children's sessions along with a few weddings. It has been great getting to know all of you and taking pictures of your special memories. I am very excited for the Fall Season. I have several Fall weddings booked along with numerous family sessions. Unfortunately I am booked right up and will not be taking anymore bookings until November. I have tried to squeeze as many of the inquiries into the months of September and October, but unfortunately I have simply run out of room.
As I have mentioned, photography is supposed to be a part-time venture for me as my first priority is my children. Because of this, I have to manage my time wisely and therefore have reached capacity (and likely over-booked myself!)
Thank you to all of you who have shown an interest in my work - I truly, truly appreciate it!
Enjoy the rest of the summer and have a wonderful Fall!

Kelly, Lauryn and Sam ~Family~
Kelly and her girls Lauryn and Sam drove out from Dauphin to meet me in Grandview for some family photos. We toured Wilson Park, the Watson-Crossley Museum and the Old Mill Site and captured some beautiful images of these pretty girls. Here is a few of the many pictures we took on Wednesday evening.
Day 186
"Mmm Mmm Good"
Today was one of those days where I realize why I love it here. My sister brought her boys to the cabin and we headed out to Asessippi Park for supper and ice cream. It was a gorgeous night out - no bugs, warm, no wind....just perfect. Mr. Maddox was so cute with his bubblegum ice cream and I co...uldn't resist taking a picture of him (well, OK several pictures of him). He is so adorable, he's only one, but he does his best to keep up with the older boys.
We came back to the cabin and sat on the deck for hours and had a great visit, and of course the kids played and played and played.
Day 186 is Mr. Maddox and his bubblegum ice cream - sooooooo cute! Thanks for coming over Les. We'll have to try to squeeze a few more of these types of nights in before summer is over!

Day 185
"Sisters"
Today was a great day at "home" in Grandview. The boys were happy to spend the day touring around with my Dad "helping" him fix a swather. I took the opportunity to go spend some time with my Grandpa Max. Great day all around.
...
This evening I met up with Kelly and her daughters Lauren and Sam for some fun, family shots in Grandview. We toured around the museum, the old Mill Site and Wilson Park (for those of you who grew up in Grandview - you know all these areas!) We captured a lot of great shots, but this one was one of my favourites (I'm still goin through them all!). Lauren and Sam are both very involved in Ukrainian Dancing so they brought along part of their dance costumes to wear in a few photos. This shot was taken down at the Old Mill Site.
Here is Day 185, Lauren and Sam - Sisters! More sneak peaks to be posted soon! Thanks girls!See More
