The Dufresne Family

What a great day on Saturday! The Dufresne family came over for some fun, family shots and we sure got some good ones. They also brought their two dogs, Eddie & Hamish and having the dogs in the pictures went better than I anticipated. There were a few moments where I was holding a piece of slice cheese over my head while taking pictures with my Nikon, but it got the dogs attention and made the Dufresne's laugh so all went well! Thanks to Jenny, Rennie and boys - it was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with you.

Holiday Cards....

It's hard to believe it, but Christmas is only 67 days away! Where is the time going? I have been very busy taking family pictures for lots of friends and family. I am offering Christmas cards this year and if anyone is interested in making their family picture into a card, let me know. My prices are on my information tab on my website: www.memoriesbyme.ca.
I am trying to figure out what to use for the "Lee Family" Christmas card because I have a feeling my family & friends will be expecting some magnificent picture since I've started this photography business. Just to keep everyone guessing, I am contemplating doing a Star Wars Christmas card complete with me as Princess Lea (yes, I have the wig!), Kris as Darth Vader, Danny as Luke Skywalker, Dylan as Hans Solo and my little one Jack as R2D2. Wouldn't that surprise everyone when they open that up and get that as their Christmas card! I'm sure my children would be far more willing to pose as Star Wars characters for Christmas than Santa's elves. LOL!! I'll keep you posted....signing off for now....
There are still lots of beautiful leaves on the ground and beautiful coloured trees...take your kids out and play! For you Moms out there - make sure you appear in some of the pictures. There are far too many of us that don't realize how valuable a picture of us is with our kids when they are little. Set the timer if you have to! Happy Fall!!!

Thanksgiving....

Well, I ventured home to Grandview to see my family and spend the Thanksgiving Holiday with them. We had a great time, despite the dreadful weather. Just to keep you updated, I did NOT get a picture of my sister's family. I'm still going to try though. It was pouring rain the day we saw them and it just didn't work out this weekend. Keep your eye on my blog as one of these days there will be pictures of her on my site-you can't miss it - she's beautiful!

I have a few more Fall Photo shoots in the coming weeks, but as I look outside, I'm not sure that they will be very "fallish". The leaves are falling very fast and it's starting to look a bit "blah" out there these days. Hopefully some of the beautiful colours will hold on until the end of October so that I can capture a few more memories for some families in the coming weeks.

I took pictures of this family on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. They were taking off to Thompson immediately after this photo shoot - that's one organized Mom!

Fall

It seems like September and October are just flying by. I have been so busy doing all kinds of Fall Family photo shoots! Thank you to all my clients for being so great to work with. We only have a few more weeks of weather where "outdoor" pictures will work. My preference is outdoor so I hope that there are some brave souls out there who will venture into the snow to capture some fun, family moments!

I am heading to Grandview this weekend to spend time with my Family over the Thanksgiving holiday. I, of course, am taking my camera and equipment with me as I hope to convince my sister to let me take her family picture! As well, my very best friend from high school called me and asked if I would take her family picture - and of course I agreed! Her parents have sold their farm and they want to capture some moments there before they move. Her home was like a second home to me too, so I'm sure it will be a fun, but also emotional day of memories. I was very honoured that she asked me and am looking so forward to capturing some moments for her, her parents and her brother.

I encourage you all to grab your camera and go take your children to play in the leaves! This is the perfect time of year for great photos!

FAMILY

Well, Sunday turned out to be an extremely windy day. Luckily the family I had come to my home for pictures were "outdoorsy" and didn't mind tromping through the bush to find a place that was somewhat sheltered from the wind. It was lots of fun and their dog, Cayenne and their adorable daughter Maya were so fun to work with. Thanks Nicole & Mike!

Miller Clan

I had an interesting time taking the Miller Clan's picture. The large family picture turned out really well, but when we turned our attention to get a picture of Grandma & Grandpa with all their grandkids, things took a turn for the worst. Out of over 100 picture, not one turned out. They kids had enough and were not interested in getting their pictures taken anymore. I'm thankful that the FAMILY one turned out though, as that was the main task of the photo shoot.

SISTERS....

I met these two great girls on Saturday. They were so nice and so fun and had lots of fun ideas. We took pictures in their backyard and their Mom stayed in the house so we could surprise her with all the pictures we took. I am very pleased with how they turned out and I think their Mom will be too. Thanks Camella & Courtney...it was so much fun!

My Family

I fell in love with this yard site that I found when I was taking Darryl and Lisa's pictures. That same day, I dragged my family (kicking and screaming I might add!) to that location for some family pictures. Here are the results....
