Another Photo Shoot!

I am so happy to see the sun shining today! I get to take pictures of three beautiful girls . We're planning to do beach shots, outdoor shots and I may also take some cool indoor shots with the coloured chairs. I can't wait! We've had to postpone it once because of rain, but by the looks of things outside, we're good to go. Stay tuned for the updated pictures. I'll hopefully get them posted in the next couple days!

Comments....please!

I was just reviewing my settings on my blog and realized I'd disabled the "comment" part of the blog. My sister had told me she tried to comment on a picture, but couldn't. Anyhow, I've amended this and would love it if people would comment on the pictures if they'd like. I am open to any type of feedback.....

Back to School.

Well, this morning I put two of my three boys onto the big school bus. It's always a day that is full of mixed emotions. I'm excited for them because I know that they will enjoy their time at school, but also saddened because it begins the process of "letting go". I was very proud of my five-year old Dylan for jumping on that bus for the very first time - no hesitations! My older son Danny, true to form, was a little more hesitant and somewhat anxious about the whole scenario. He did well though too. For all you Moms and Dads out there - I hope you had a great "first day back" as well! Happy Fall Everyone!

I had one of my best friend's daughters over today and managed to capture some very fun and pretty pictures of this eight-year old sweet heart! Thanks Payton for being my model!

Studio

Well, I have converted the front bedroom of our home into a small studio for portraits. I think it turned out quite nice. I attempted to "practice" on the boys, but they weren't very cooperative. Luckily today I have my friend's daughter coming over and I told her Mom to pack her a bag so we could have our own little photo shoot. I'm excited...and I think she is too! Keep your eye on the blog for more pictures.

Farewell Summer

What a great summer this has been! It's sad to see it go, but here comes fall (my favourite season). I hope to get "home" to Grandview and get some beautiful harvest pictures with my Dad in them. I hope I don't miss it this year like I did last year.

The Fraser Family

I had so much fun taking pictures of this family. Kailee & Marisa were an absolute joy to photograph and I could have stayed out in that field all night snapping pictures of these cute girls. I promised the girls I'd try to get some pictures on my blog tonight so here are just a few of the MANY pictures I took this evening.

Harvest Family

This is my brother Lance's family. It was their 9th Anniversary so I took them out to some of the local fields and captured some really nice shots. So much fun!!

Big News!

Well, I quit my job yesterday. I worked part-time for City Hall and was finding with the photography and demands of family, I just could no longer keep up the pace. Something had to give and it was time to get my priorities in line. I have worked at City Hall for nine wonderful years. My amazing co-workers were like family to me and I am very saddened by the fact that I won't have the privilege of working with them anymore. However, I am excited about the prospect of being able to set my own hours, work from home and spend more time with my three boys. I am in the midst of setting up a little "studio" in my home so that I can continue to do family & children's portraits when the snow falls. Wish me luck everyone! I am still a little leery (and very sad) about my decision, but I think in time it will be the best thing for me, and more importantly, my family.
