Tiny Hands

I was just sitting on the floor in my office/living room and I snapped this picture of Marae.  I love it. Some may wonder why, maybe it’s the little hand...I’m not sure, but there is something about it that I just like.

My friend Andrea came over today and I couldn’t resist taking some pictures of her adorable daughter Marae. She is just starting to walk and its so cute to watch her go from room to room. Here are a couple pics of this little gem.

Dawn & Jeff

I had a great time on Saturday afternoon with Dawn & Jeff.  Dawn showed me where this beautiful rainbow bridge is (only three miles from my home!).  This lovely couple is tying the knot this July and I was so pleased they asked me to do their engagement photos.  Thanks Dawn & Jeff!  Happy Wedding Planning!!!

Well, I did what Gabrielle told me to do. I just took pictures on the manual setting and experimented with my camera.  I thought these pictures of the flowers turned out really nice.  None of these have any edits on Photoshop done to them, other than the border around the picture and my Memories by Me type.  I love the colours!  So vibrant.

Well, I headed into Winnipeg today to meet with Photographer Gabrielle Touchette and spent a great two hours learning so much about photography and a new photo editing software.  I look forward to meeting with her again and learning even more!  Thank Gabrielle....

Happy Birthday Grandpa Max!

Well, tomorrow is my Grandpa Max’s 87^th birthday.  He amazes me with his ability to NEVER age.  Honestly, he seems the same age he was when I was a teenager.  He has been through a lot in the past few years, but he finds the strength to keep on going....and keep on enjoying life.  Happy Birthday Grandpa Max!  I love you....

So Much To Learn!

Well, I am heading to Winnipeg tomorrow to meet with Photographer Gabrielle Touchette.  She is going to sit down with me and show me some tricks of the trade.  There is so much to learn and so much new technology out there when it comes to photography that sometimes I’m overwhelmed.  I can’t wait to meet her and have her share her wisdom with me.  I follow her blog, just click on my profile and you’ll see her blog page as well.  I also hope to learn a new photo editing program that I hear is out o this world.  I’ll keep you posted.  I’m very excited about what tomorrow will bring!

More Signs of Spring!

The snow is gone (let’s hope for good), and there are some buds on the trees. I cannot wait for things to green up so I can get back to my favourite location for pictures – outside!!  Thank you to everyone who has been booking their Spring/Summer shoots!  I’ve even had some inquiries for the fall.....

My three year old had a great time playing in the puddles the other day. Personally, I can’t wait for it to dry up and “get greener”, but the kids love the puddles!

Gettin' Busy!

Well, Spring is here and I can tell as my phone has been ringing booking appointments for outdoor family shots. I'm excited about the trees and grass getting greener and capturing some memories for family and friends. I'm getting booked up for May and June so if you're wanting family pictures in the spring/summer, better call soon.

Rest In Peace Darcey

I had the honour and privilege to take family portraits for our neighbour's last May. At the time, their oldest daughter Darcey had just been diagnosed with cancer and they weren't sure how much time she had left. She beat the odds and lived long past what the doctors said she would. Sadly, she passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 with her family by her side. She leaves behind two children and a loving family. I was so saddened to hear of her passing and will always admire her strength and determination to beat Cancer. She was such a fighter. Rest in Peace Darcey. I am so glad we took the time to take these pictures last May.

More of My Boys....

For some reason, all three boys were happy to have their picture taken today. They all turned out great - I'm so happy with them, especially this last one of Danny.

New Backdrop!

I got a few new backdrops and thought I'd try them out this morning with my youngest son. I snapped away for about five minutes and then he was "all done", but I love the look of these new colourful backdrops. The other one I have is bright pink...but I don't think the boys would appreciate being photographed against a pink background (either would their Dad!)

I spent the afternoon with this adorable, bright-eyed little baby girl. She is just two weeks old and has the most amazing head of hair! Thanks Jodi & Corey - you have an adorable little girl!

And then there were seven....

As you know, if you follow my blog, my sister had a baby boy last month. That made a total of SEVEN grandsons for my parents - no girls! I had my nephews at the cabin over Spring Break and I decided it would be fun to take a picture of all seven boys. The pictures turned out OK, but I should have done it at the start of the day - NOT AT THE END! Oh well, next time I'll know better!
