Day 135

"Mr. Sawyer"

Well, it was quite a busy day today (again!). Today was the last day of school for Danny and Dylan. I was going to feature their pictures for my "Picture of the Day", but they weren't overly keen on getting their photo taken first thing this morning. I took them, but they have those "do we have to Mom?" looks on their face so I figured that I'd grab some after school. Needless to say, that didn't happen....long story short, I had a very unhappy seven year old for most of the afternoon so today was not a day for his picture to be taken again.

We got home and I did a whirlwind cleaning of the house and then Mr. Sawyer arrived. He is the most adorable little six month old baby with big, curious eyes and a wonderful personality. He was so good and so easy to photograph. What a sweet heart! Thank you Brette for trusting me with his six month portraits. It was a pleasure meeting you and so nice to have a baby in the house again. Made me long for those days where all we had to worry about was diapers and feedings, not school, friends and classroom issues. Life was simpler back then when I had little babies...too bad I was too sleep-deprived to enjoy it as much as I realize I should have! ;)

We ended the day with a trip into Winnipeg - we wanted to celebrate the boys' report cards (which were great - yay!) and the fact that summer is starting for them. We went to McNally Robinson's and then over to Tony Roma where several toasts were made for the kids and the start of their summer!

For Day 135, I am featuring Mr. Sawyer - so cute!! I wish I had some great pics of the boys on their last day...but oh well, I love this one of Sawyer so I'm using it instead.

Day 134

"Friends for Life"

Tonight's session was so much fun. I met up with a bunch of Grade 8 girls heading to their Junior High Prom. Next year this bunch of girls is heading off to High School. These girls were all willing to jump as high as I wanted them to and made this session great for me.

The reason I did this shoot was for my Goddaughter Shae. I remember very clearly the day she was born, and I find it very hard to believe she will be heading off to High School next year. To me, Shae is that little girl who loved Spot the Dalmation. However, when she walked upstairs tonight in her prom dress.....I quickly realized, she is no longer the little girl I have in my mind still. Wow - she looked so pretty (and so much like her Mom!).

I have known her Mom all my life. Shae is the reason that I met my husband. Years ago, Kris and I stood up in her parent's wedding party. Then they had Shae and asked me to be the Goddmother and Kris to be the Godfather. We kept meeting up at Shae's birthdays, Halloweens and special occasions and then one day....we went on a date....and the rest is history.

So as you can tell, this girl means a lot to me, so it was my absolute pleasure to take these pictures for her and her friends. I hope you gals had lots of fun tonight at your prom. And I especially hope that you will all be "Friends for Life"....the way Shae's Mom and I have been.

Here is Day 134....

Day 133

Day 133

"A Sister Holds Your Hand Through Life...."

I had the pleasure of taking pictures of "sisters" all weekend! Yesterday I took pictures of the four Jochum girls and today I had the pleasure of taking pictures of Kylie & Kris in the afternoon, and Kelsey, Jenny, Amy and Paige in the evening.

Kylie and Kris are 15 years apart and the 'Guy' Sisters only span in age of six years between all four of them. But one thing they do have in common is there is a definite bond between both sets of sisters.

This weekend certainly made me miss my own sister....can't wait to see you and your little guys in a few days Leslie!

So, for Day 133, it features both Kylie & Kris and the 'Guy' Sisters....holding each other's hands!

Girls! Girls! Girls!

Here is a sneak peek of each girl individually from yesterday's session!

The Jochum Girls

I had so much fun taking pictures of these four lovely girls! They were great to work with and such nice girls!

The Jochum Family

I travelled to St. Francois on Saturday afternoon to meet Gunter, Crystal and their four daughters for some family photos. They farm and own Blue Diamond Berry Farm. We thought it would be fun to get some photos in the strawberry patch as well as in the Canola field. They have such a beautiful yard so we also took s...ome pictures around the yard. They were so friendly and acommodating....it was great to meet them! Here is a sample of the many images we were able to capture before the big thunderstorm hit!

Family is where your story starts.....

I had so much fun taking pictures of Karley, Jeromy and their new little Man Del. They are so in love with this little boy. He's lucky to have such wonderful parents!

Day 132

"The Girls"

So, today was a busy day. I was supposed to have a family session this morning, but it was post poned. It was kind of a good thing for me as I was now able to head into Winnipeg to watch Dylan play at Canwest Global Park. The Oakville Team won the draw at the Jamboree a few weeks ago which allowed them to play at the Goldeyes Stadium. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to see that Danny was also playing...he was supposed to be the "assistant to the coach (his Dad)", but he ended up playing too.

I headed to St. Francois later in the afternon to do some family pictures. This family has four girls ranging in age from nine to eighteen....and they were such lovely girls. They wanted to do some fun pictures on the hay bales and of course, I was keen to do them as well. On the count of three I told them to jump as high as they could and captured this shot. I have to admit, I was a bit scared one of them might fall off....but being typical little farm girls....they held their footing. We finished up just in time....as I was driving out of their yard it started pouring. I was so happy that we were able to take a bunch of pictures before the storm hit.

For Day 132, I thought I'd use this fun pictures of these four great gals having fun on the farm!

Baby Del

Captured some sweet shots of thi adorable three-month old boy on Wednesday night. He is too cute words so I'll let the pictures do the talking!

Day 131

Kids Live Here....

As I mentioned before, I don`t have much of a green thumb. Despite that, I have a very beautiful yard. No, it would never make it`s way into Better Homes and Gardens, but I love it. It`s very natural looking - minimal landscaping, but large, old, beautiful trees. I love just sitting looking up at these trees and trying to imagine a time way back when when they were planted. My yard is cluttered....with bikes, toys, trampoline, swingsets, tree swings, gloves, balls, hockey sticks, etc. And to some, they may think it looks messy or unkept, but boys live here and that`s the way it should look!

I spent the morning working on pictures, and then decided to spend the afternoon outside with the boys. Luckily we had our yard sprayed for mosquitoes on Wednesday night so we were actually able to enjoy the outdoors for a change. I had done all my yard work yesterday so today I basically just sat in my lawn chair and enjoyed the view - my boys having fun! (best view in the world as far as I`m concerned!). They went from the trampoline, to the sprinkler, to their bikes, to playing catch, to the swings....just watching them play made me tired! Luckily I live in the middle of nowhere on a dead end, so I don`t worry about traffic and just let them be. What a fun afternoon we had!

Here is Day 131....my boys at play in my cluttered yard!

Day 130

"Play Ball....for the final night"

So, tonight was the last night of baseball for my boys. I didn't get to see Dylan play as he was playing in Oakvile and Danny was playing in Portage. I did get a text from Kris telling me Dylan hit a Grand Slam tonight. So wish there was some way I could have seen it but I can't be in two places at once!

Danny's team played really well tonight and we ended up losing the game by one run. Both my boys had a lot of fun this year playing ball, and I enjoyed watching them learn this great sport. A big thank you to Chris and Grace Delong, along with Blaine Page for coaching Danny. He loved baseball this year, and it is because of your constant encouragement and love of the game that he enjoyed it so much.

Hats off to my husband Kris for stepping up to the plate and coaching Dylan's team along side Carl Janeszko. Kris never played ball much as a kid so "coaching" it for a second year in a row was a bit stressful for him at the beginning, but he thoroughly enjoyed it and Dylan loved having his Dad for a coach.

For my Picture of the Day I chose Danny and Dylan with their Dad on their last night of ball. The mosquitoes were a bit horrendous as I tried to capture this shot so it's not perfect, but it's a good memory for me!

Here is Day 130...three of my four favourite people!

Day 129

"Baby Love"

As you know, I love babies. I love everything about them....their soft skin, tiny toes and fingers, their sweet baby smell - just everything! I've been very lucky to have had the opportunity to photograph several little babies the past couple months. I just love it. I must apologize to the parents as I always go way over my time limit when taking pictures of babies...I literally could snap away at them all day - even when they're crying they're cute to me!

Tonight I had the privilege of taking pictures of three month old baby Del, and his Mom Karley and Dad Jeremy. It was so much fun and we were able to capture some beautiful images of them. Poor little Del had mosquito bites on his face so I will have a bit of editing work cut out for me, but that's OK!

For Day 129 I chose a collage of pictures outlining what I love most about photographing newborns....the small little details like their tiny toes and tiny hands, and also the connection between a Mom and her new baby.

Mr. CJ

How could I have forgotten to include the little Dude named CJ from my photoshoot the other night. Such a great kid....and so cute!

Sunshine - Yay!

Yesterday was one of those days where we never knew if it was going to rain or shine! However, my son was anxious to get outdoors so after dousing ourselves with bugspray away we went. I captured these pics of him going up and down the road (the only place we could partially escape those pesky bugs!). I couldn't get over the brilliance of the blue sky, the clouds and the lush green grass. Here are a few of the pics I took....

Kalynne

Here are a few more of Kalynne....so fun and easy to take pictures of! No editing required....she's a natural beauty!

Kara and Kids

Kara had her kids with her so I couldn't resist a few fun shots in between the "sister" session.

Sisters!

I met up with Kara and Bev in Portage la Prairie on Monday night to do some Sister Photos. We raced through the museum as the mosquitoes were having a feeding frenzy on us. Here are a few pics from our session....
